Davi Millsaps Scores First Supercross Win of his Career
Atlanta, Georgia – February 25, 2008 – Red Bull Honda’s Davi Millsaps, of Cairo, Georgia, won the first race of his career at the Georgia Dome in front of 67,429 screaming fans.
It was a momentous and eventful night as Georgia’s own Davi Millsaps staked claim to victory. Fellow WMG athlete Chad Reed of Tampa, Florida jumped out of the gate and won the $1,500 Progressive Holeshot Award with Millsaps following close behind in second. However, while leading, Reed crashed before the finish line on lap six and re-mounted in 11th place. Millsaps quickly gained the lead and never looked back to claim his first AMA Supercross win of his career. “I don’t like to take a win like this, but a win is a win,” said Millsaps. “I had a lot of friends and family here tonight, so winning in front of them is huge, especially my first win in this class.” With momentum on his side and little time to rest, Millsaps prepares to head to Indianapolis this Saturday for the next round of the 2008 season. Check out the race Sunday, March 2nd 6:00 PM ET on the SPEED Channel.
Davi Millsaps would like to thank his sponsors: Red Bull Honda, No Fear, Alpinestars, Oakley Goggles, DC Shoes and Arai Helmets.
