Jim Neese Interviewed on FOX 8 Morning News; Promotes Growth in Arenacross and Action Sports
Greensboro, North Carolina (February 22, 2008) - Jim Neese, owner of the Foremost Insurance Suzuki Team and last year's Arenacross Lites East Champion, was interviewed on the WGHP Fox 8 Morning Show today. The in-studio interview covered the upcoming Toyota AMA Arenacross race at the Greensboro Coliseum and provided an overview of Arenacross racing for new fans.
Neese compared Arenacross racing to NASCAR racing at Bristol (a smaller track on the circuit). He also mentioned the new Joe Gibbs Supercross team and Scott Riggs, a NASCAR driver and big fan of motocross. Jimmie Johnson was named in the interview as one of the NASCAR drivers who grew up racing motocross.
"I really enjoy every time the media gives me an opportunity to talk about the sport I love. The more mainstream promoting that motorcycle racers do, the faster our sports will grow. Building the fan base of any sport requires that the athletes educate new potential fans - television is still one of the fastest ways to accomplish that goal. I purposely focused on NASCAR because I live in the heart of NASCAR country and that is what the fans understand," commented Neese.
North Carolina is quickly becoming one of the hot spots for top motocross riders. Last week, North Carolina native Austin Stroupe (Lincolnton, NC) won the Monster Energy Lites West Supercross at the Texas Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX. Broc Tickle (Carey, NC), a former Jim Neese student, also races professional Supercross and is getting ready to start the Lites East Series at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA this Saturday.
Neese is currently in seventh place overall in the Toyota Arenacross point standings with 220 points. He races in his hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina at the Greensboro Coliseum tomorrow night, February 23, 2008.
