San Francisco Supercross Postponed

The riders and crew get the scoop from the AMA at this afternoon's riders' meeting.
Due to the inclement weather in the area, everything has been postponed at San Francisco's AT&T Park. After the day's initial riders' meeting, a second was called at 3:30 p.m. PST to announce the day's practice and race schedules. The track is being uncovered, and practice is set to start at 4:45, with the unseeded Lites going first for a shortened 10-minute session, followed by the seeded Lites, the seeded 450s, and then the unseeded 450s.

The big news may come later. Depending on the weather and the race conditions, it's possible that the entire program may be inverted. According to the AMA, a concession may be made for the 450cc class since tomorrow will mark the season debut of the Monster Energy/AMA Supercross Championship on CBS in high-definition. If the weather is bad enough, the 450s will be the first out on the track for Heats, followed by the Lites, and the same for the main events. There's also the possibility of there being no LCQs in either class if the weather requires it, which would logically mean that the heat races for both classes would transfer 11 riders instead of the normal 9.

More from practice later...
