This week's collection comes from Dave Gardner:
"This is my 1990 Honda CR250. I’ve been riding and racing for most of my adult life, and have always wanted a '90 model CR. Why? God, after riding this thing, I don’t have a clue. Perhaps because it was my post-high school years, and I never could afford one. Compared to modern bikes, the thing turns like a tricycle, weighs a ton, and the suspension? Oh man, don’t get me started. I’ve had my local shop re-valve it twice, and have finally convinced myself that 'Hey dude, it’s an 18-year-old bike; it is what it is!’ And motor? Oh yeah, good times. Pro Circuit did the porting at some point on this thing, and the powerband is mid to upper Rs. Chassis technology has advanced light years, but the two smokes are a great reminder of quick, immediate power. Slowly but surely I’ve pieced together a great looking scoot from a great era in motocross that reminds me of my youth. When I race it in our local EVO vintage series, they occasionally combine ‘Disco Class’ (1990 or older) with modern bikes w/ older pilots, and I gotta tell ya, racing this nearly 20-year-old CR with a dozen CR450s is more fun than mortal man should have!"
