Portland, Oregon – August 21, 2007 – It was an all WMG podium in Portland over the weekend as Adam Jones took first, Nate Adams finished second and Mike Mason rounded out the top three in third.
Following their medal winning performances at X Games, WMG’s Nate Adams and Adam Jones were joined by fellow WMG athlete Mike Mason as all three rounded out the top three spots at the Vans Invitational, stop number three of the AST Dew Tour. After round one, Jones sat in first place after throwing down what could only be described as a stellar run, complete with Jones’s patented Stripper Flip and Shaolin Flip. However Adam wasn’t done there as he uncorked a Cliff-hanger flip, a trick only one other rider does over the 75 foot gap. The deadly combination of flip tricks put Adam in the top spot, besting best-friend Nate Adams who was forced into second. In the second round, Mike Mason upped the ante and flipped his way into the third spot and it was up to Jones and Adams to battle it out for the win. Since Jones was the top qualifier, Nate was put in the unfamiliar position of having to ride second to last. Despite a couple of new combinations, Nate could not overtake Jones for the win as Jones’ first round score stood the onslaught from the competition. As the final results were tallied, it went Jones, Adams and Mason and an overall sweep for WMG.
