Dunlop Tops Medal Count at X Games 13
Buffalo, NY--Black gold powered Dunlop-shod competitors to seven medals at this year’s ESPN's X Games 13, more podium finishes than the competition combined.
A total of 13 medals were available in the five motorcycle disciplines contested and Dunlop riders earned two gold, one silver and four bronze medals overall. In Moto X Supermoto, Graves Yamaha’s Mark Burkhart and Troy Lee Designs Honda teammates Jeff Ward and David Pingree finished 1-2-3, respectively, sweeping the competition for Dunlop. In fact, of the 23 Supermoto event’s participants, 19 rode on Dunlop tires. Red Bull/KTM’s Ronnie Renner collected the only medal available in Moto X Step Up--gold--while the Freestyle and Moto X Best Trick events saw Yamaha-mounted Jeremy Stenberg and Metal Mulisha/Honda rider Todd Potter each take home the bronze, respectively. SoBe/Samsung/Mobile Honda’s Kevin Windham earned a bronze medal as well in Moto X, the first-ever X Games competition featuring the top Supercross stars.
Driving home the point, Dunlop was the brand of choice for 49 of the 68 riders entered in the five competitions, ample testimony that 7 out of 10 riders chose Dunlop to showcase their potential before 100,000 attendees and an estimated 270 million viewers in 135 different countries.
