Toyota '08 TMX Rider to Join Lucas Oil Star Racing Yamaha
Twenty amateur riders vie for coveted professional ride with Toyota
Torrance, Calif. – (July 23, 2007) – Toyota will move one amateur motocross rider forward again for 2008 with the opportunity to earn a professional ride on Lucas Oil Star Racing Yamaha. On of the Toyota 20, the top 20 TMX athlete program amateur riders, will be selected to receive a pro ride. The rider will be selected and announced at 2007 Air Nautiques AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. July 30 – August 4.
“Toyota is continuing its involvement in Supercross and Motocross by once again helping a rider move forward in their career and give them the opportunity to earn a pro ride,” said Brian Smith, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Corporate Manager, Truck and SUV. “For the 2008 race season, Toyota is working with Star Racing to identify one talented individual and give him the chance of a lifetime.”
For the 2007 Supercross and Motocross race seasons Toyota selected Sean Hackley to move to the pro ranks aboard the Motoworld Racing PPG Yamaha Team after his solid performance as an amateur throughout 2006.
The selected rider will not only receive an opportunity to ride with Lucas Oil Star Racing Yamaha in 2008, but will also be sponsored by Toyota, receive a Toyota truck and obtain additional benefits, including a riding coach, personal trainer and professional media training.

The Toyota-sponsored, Lucas Oil Star Racing rider will be announced at the 2007 Air Nautiques AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. on August 3, 2007.
