Doug Henry Benefit Dinner and Auction

Top pros and ams team up to race exhibition event where all the proceeds go to benefit Henry, followed by a dinner/auction for him as well

WATERFORD, Mich., (June 29, 2007) – Racers and fans attending next weekend’s Detroit Supermoto – Round Four of the 2007 AMA Supermoto Championship – have a chance to not only catch some great racing all weekend, but to also be part of events to benefit injured supermoto racer Doug Henry.

Beginning on Saturday, July 7th, fans showing up for the pro practice session will get to witness a full on, 30-lap race featuring pretty much all of the world’s top supermoto racers. The pros will be teamed with an amateur racer in a relay event complete with a Grand Prix-style running start to the bikes!

“Everybody’s pumped to help Doug out here,” said Z Sports’ Tom Zielinski, producer and promoter of the Detroit Supermoto. “The race will give the pros some extra time on the track, and allow for some recognizable industry people to show off their skills – or not (laughter). It’ll definitely be fun for the fans and should provide a nice segway into Saturday night’s benefit dinner/auction for Doug.”

The Doug Henry Benefit Dinner & Auction will be held at the Oakland County Sportsman’s Club on the grounds of the Waterford Hills Raceway facility beginning at 6 p.m. All of the riders and industry members have donated TONS of stuff, so make sure to bring your checkbook!

Tickets for the Detroit Supermoto at the participating southeastern Michigan Yamaha dealers (below) are $25 for adults (versus $35 at the gate), ten bucks for kids ages nine to 17 and children eight and under are admitted FREE!
