MDK Lites KTM Team Signs Ryan Sipes
Temecula, CA – The MDK Lites KTM Team signed a second rider to the eventual four member team with the addition of Ryan Sipes.
In May MDK Racing, LLC (MDK) and KTM North America, Inc. announced they had signed a three year contract for a four rider MDK Lites factory KTM Team. The first rider to join the team was Iowa-native, Justin Brayton. Brayton will now be joined by Kentucky’s Ryan Sipes.
Sipes Supercross career started successfully when he podiumed in his second Supercross ever back in 2005. Since then he has had some luck with top five finishes and a Supercross win at last year’s Vancouver race accompanied by bad misfortune due to injuries. He has just returned to racing after healing a broken fibula. He is excited to get back on a bike and make a fresh start with the MDK Lites KTM Team.
Sipes and Brayton have both signed two-year contracts with the MDK Lites Racing Team. Both are new to the KTM bike and look forward to an opportunity to ride factory race bikes under the MDK Lites KTM tent. Sipes said, “I feel good about the team and I am happy to be a part of it. KTM’s had a decent track record in the past and I want to help them continue to improve it.”
Kurt Nicoll, KTM’s Director of Racing, stated “We watched Ryan when he first came onto the Supercross scene three seasons ago and are pleased with his progress. Despite injuries in the past two years we see tremendous potential in Ryan. With Ryan’s hard work, determination, a solid team effort and a great bike we believe he will be in contention for a championship.”
