Back when I was in Engineering school, one of the most valuable lessons I learned was a method of engineering referred to as KISS engineering. KISS stands for Keep It Simple Stupid and can be applied to many things in life including training. Fancy equipment, V02 tests, and heart rate monitors can certainly be beneficial to training, but they also lead us further from the KISS philosophy. To get back to a KISS training routine, put down the equipment, strap on a pair of running shoes and get down on the floor for some good old fashioned push-ups. This article outlines a basic routine that combines running and features seven different types of push-ups that are perfect for MX. Go to www.racerxvt.com to read the complete article.
