WinFried Kerschhaggl To Head KTM Racing
KTM has announced that Winfried Kerschhaggl, KTM’s current Vice President in North America, will take up a new position as head of KTM Motor Sports as of April 1, 2007.
Kerschhaggl will return to the head office in Mattighofen Austria after completing his assignment in the USA to take up his new position as head of KTM Motor Sports effective April 1, 2007.
KTM, the company, whose “Ready to Race” philosophy underlines all of its activities in motor sports, has begun to develop a new strategy for its comprehensive worldwide racing activities. Implementing the new strategy will be Kerschhaggl who holds overall responsibility for the Motorsports activities. Former Motocross factory rider Pit Beirer is in charge of off-road racing activities. Harald Bartol, technical director of the Red Bull KTM Racing Team, is responsible for all road racing projects and motorsports activities. In the USA, all motorsports activities will still be under the control of Kurt Nicoll.
In addition, the entire KTM Racing Management Team is supported by KTM’s Motor Sports Consultant ,Heinz Kinigadner. Kinigadner is a former Motocross World Champion and founder of the “Wings for life” program.
