Ten races and ten-straight podium finishes for Australian on the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series tour
CARLSBAD, Calif., (March 12, 2007) – Unbound Energy Drink-backed Chad Reed (San Manuel/Yamaha), the 2004 AMA Supercross Series champion, continued his quest to regain the overall supercross class title, this past weekend scoring his tenth-straight podium finish of the 2007 supercross season.
Reed, who dominated his heat race (No. 2), winning going away, ran into some trouble off the starting line in the main event and wound up coming around after the first lap in a very uncharacteristic 8th place.
The Aussie would buckle down, however, and began picking off the world’s greatest supercross racers on his way to the podium, felling former Supercross Lites champions Tim Ferry and Grant Langston, along with perennial front runners Kevin Windham and Michael Byrne on his way towards the front of the pack.
“I dug myself a hole early that was tough to get out of,” said Reed. “I actually felt good, rode pretty well and was able to make it back to the podium. Looking forward to racing in Orlando this weekend and trying to put the Unbound Energy Drink-backed San Manuel Yamaha up on top of the podium again.”
Noteworthy: Reed’s Unbound Energy Drink-backed teammate Nathan Ramsey suffered an injury this past week during practice that has him on the sidelines indefinitely.
Next up for Unbound Energy’s Reed is Round 11 of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl (March 17th).
