RWR, Rick Ware Racing, announced today that two new riders, Brock Sellards and Tyler Bright, were signed to compete for Pro30 Racing, sponsored by Bad Boy Power Drink and Pro30.com, in the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross East Coast series starting this Saturday, February 24th in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome.
Popular veteran motocross racer Brock Sellards, last year's 2005-2006 Toyota AMA National Arenacross Series overall championship runner up, will ride the Bad Boy/Pro30 # 18 in the Supercross class on a Honda CR450F. Brock lost last year's Arenacross series championship by one point, the closest title finish in the sport's history. After having an incredible beginning to this season, Brook had some mechanical problems the last few races and finished 6th in points in the 2006-2007 Toyota AMA National Arenacross Series overall championship.
A former Pro Circuit Kawasaki, FMF Honda, Red Bull KTM, Yamaha of Troy, TUF Racing and BooKoo Team rider, Sellards, 28, began his pro career in 1996. Known for his podium-at-any-cost racing prowess, over the years he's enjoyed his greatest success in supercross-style racing. In 2000, Sellards took second-place six times in the 125cc Eastern Region Supercross series. He's pumped about riding for Pro30 Racing sponsors Bad Boy Power Drink and Pro30.com. Sellards said, "When I got the call from team owner Rick Ware, the timing was perfect. I enjoyed competing in Arenacross, but was ready to try my hand at competing with the top guys in the Supercross class. With Rick's expertise and some factory support from Honda, I'm looking forward to riding the Bad Boy/Pro30 # 18 this weekend".
Tyler Bright, will ride the Bad Boy/Pro30 # 709 Yamaha in the Supercross Lites Class for Pro30 Racing. This will be Tyler's debut in the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross series.
Tyler is 16 years old. He started racing when he was 7, and he's gotten better every year. In 2006 he finished 5th in points in the AMA Arenacross Lites South Division.
Tyler graduated from high school in May with a 3.9 grade average. He's very driven and focused for a young man, and he takes his race career very seriously. "I train hard. I eat right. You have to be in shape, mentally and physically, to compete at a high level in this sport".
Tyson Hadsell # 109 will continue to compete in the Supercross class for Pro30 Racing. Jeff Dement # 43, suffered a severe injury to his hand on February 10th in Houston, TX, and will be unable to compete for the next few weeks. Team owner Rick Ware said, "It's very unfortunate that Jeff is out with an injury. He's a key member of the team, and we hope he has a speedy recovery and gets to compete again before the end of the season."
Shae Bentley, 2000 AMA 125 Supercross Western Regional Champion, was scheduled to compete in the Supercross Lites class for Pro30 Racing this Saturday, but due to an injury recently suffered in practice he will not be competing. However, Shae will make a special appearance for a good cause during the event in the Georgia Dome. Shae will ride a special replica TTR50 version of his Bad Boy/Pro30 #104 Supercross Lites Yamaha in to the arena and donate it to the DMXS Ride-4-AT on behalf of Pro30 Racing sponsors Bad Boy Power Drink and Pro30.com. Special thanks to Martin's Yamaha from Ocala, Florida for their continued support of the DMXS Ride-4-AT.
