CARLSBAD, Calif., (Jan. 15, 2007) – Deluge Sport Drink-backed athletes stepped it up at the Phoenix round of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series this past weekend with the premium spring water company placing two athletes – Deluge Sport/Moto XXX’s Kyle Lewis and Deluge Sport/MB1’s Kyle Partridge – in the AMA Supercross and AMA Supercross Lites class main events, respectively.
Lewis, riding a Honda CRF450R, had to make the main via the LCQ – which he won over a field of racers that included top privateers Ryan Clark and Jason Thomas. In the main event Lewis got a descent start and would wind up 16th overall, which moved him into the top 20 overall in the series with five points.
In the Lites division Kyle Partridge (MB1) was on it in his heat race, topping a solid field of racers to make the podium (3rd). Partridge then carried that momentum in to the Lites main event, overcoming a poor start (16th) to make the top ten. Partridge remained in the top ten through lap 12 (of 15), but sketched a bit late in the race and settled for 11th. With the effort Partridge moved into 16th place overall in the Western Lites Region, just ten points out of the top ten.
This weekend (Jan. 20th) the Deluge sport Drink-backed racers will battle it out at the second installment of the three-round Anaheim races, Round Three of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series at Angels Stadium.
