Tragedy at Dakar Rally

Racer X has learned of a motorcycle fatality in today's fourth stage of the Dakar rally, the grueling race across the African desert. South Africa's Elmer Symons, 29, perished while running in 18th overall. Symons had been working and racing in the U.S., and even competed in the 250 A class in the 2006 GNCC Series, where he finished 11th for the season.
