Lange tops in small bore class; Monster/Babbitt’s Racing teammates Davenport & Northrop return this weekend for race in Chicago
CARLSBAD, Calif., (Jan 8, 2007) – The Monster Energy-backed Babbitt’s/Kawasaki Race Team’s Darcy Lange was on it this past weekend in the 250 class of the Boo Koo Arenacross Series, winning both Friday and Saturday night at Reading’s (Pa.) Sovereign Center.
With the effort Lange extended his overall lead in the 250 series to 58 points over Tiger Lacey, 186-128. And with two solid finishes in the 450 class, Lange upped his lead in that class to 154-137 over Tyler Bowers. More importantly, Monster Energy’s Lange now holds a near 100-point lead over Brad Ripple for the coveted overall championship, 340-251.
“I’m kinda bummed I didn’t do so well in the 450 class races seeing as how I was leading them on both nights,” said Lange. “I was able to make up for it though in the 250 class races, which helps regarding the overall title. I’m looking forward to running it back this weekend in Chicago, hopefully get up on top of the box in both classes.”
Also for Chicago look for the return of Monster Energy/Babbitt’s Kawasaki Gray Davenport. The Utah native has been nursing a bum hand and will be joined on the track by Jeff Northrop, who’s been on the sideline with an injury as well – giving Monster Energy/Babbitt’s Kawasaki a three-man team for the weekend.
Next up for Monster Energy’s Babbitt’s Kawasaki round six of the Boo Koo Arenacross Series this weekend (Jan. 12-14) at the Sears Centre in Chicago.
