Toyota AMA Arenacross Series Adds Wheeling, WV, To Its Schedule
AURORA, Ill., (January 2, 2006) – Live Nation announced today that WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.V., has been added to the 2006-’07 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series schedule. The Wheeling stop on the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series, scheduled for Feb. 9-11, replaces the January Columbus, Ga., round of the series.
“This is the first time the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series will compete in Wheeling,” said Todd Jendro, senior director of motorcycle operations, Live Nation. “With dirt bike sales at an all-time high in the region and both the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship (High Point National) and Grand National Cross Country series (GNCCs) competing nearby, a West Virginia race has been on the radar for a while.”
Wheeling joins Albany (N.Y), Baltimore (Md.), Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) and Greenville (S.C) as an Eastern qualifying region for the Amateur Arenacross World Arenacross finals in Las Vegas’ prestigious MGM Grand Garden Arena in Oct. 2007.
