Your Collection

Thursday, December 28, 2006 | 7:29 AM

Dear Collectors,

Matt from Throttle Jockey here. For this last submission of the year I wanted to say THANKS! to all of you that have sent in submissions for Your Collection. Also, another big THANKS! to everyone at Racer X for having us as the sponsor. It always puts a smile on my face to receive a new "Your Collection" email. Kind of like the same smile I get when I throw a leg over my dirt bike. This week's selection you can not throw a leg over. You have to jump in with both legs. So why did I pick this you say? Well, just because it’s Christmas--it’s red and it’s big like we all hope that our gifts will be. Oh, and also because this is how I would envision Santa’s slay looking.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and keep the submissions flowing!

Thanks!

Matt Davis

Now back to our regulary scheduled feature...

This week's collection comes from Bobby Boord of Plainfield, CT:

"I am a very avid motocross racer, however, here is a picture of "My Collection." It is not a motorcycle but rather a 1989 Honda Pilot FL 400R. As an eleven-year-old kid I could only fantasize of owning such a beast! Honda only made 1600 of these machines. They were over-priced, too big and finally discontinued due to lack of sales after only two years of production. I bought this Pilot on a cold winter day from eBay in three boxes. I have since restored her to her original state. It really goes good, plus it is always nice to smell CAM2 early in the morning!"
