Robbie Reynard Shows Up at Toyota AMA Arenacross Series
MX great says he’s “in” for the entire competition season
AURORA, Ill., (Nov. 3, 2006) – Oklahoma’s Robbie Reynard is the latest name added to the all-star list of athletes competing on the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series tour that kicks off tonight at Des Moines’ (Iowa) Wells Fargo Arena.
“Yeah, I just figured it out last week that I wanted to race,” said Reynard. “So I’ve been piecing together a few sponsors here and there and we’ll go out and give it a shot this weekend.”
With a storied motocross career that began in the 1980s, Reynard’s professional career got off to a rocket ship start winning the 1993 AMA Motocross Lites main event at Steel City (Delmont, Pa.) Reynard returned to the top of the podium again in ’95, winning both the Gainesville (Fla.) “Gatorback” National and the Millville, Minn., National.
The following year, Reynard had some misfortune, which sidelined him for the entire supercross season. Undaunted, the hard-charging Oklahoma native bounced back the next year, finishing on the podium or in the top ten at nearly every event he entered.
“I’ll be racing the whole Toyota AMA Arenacross Series season,” added Reynard.
