BooKoo Arenacross Goes Big With Pit Bike Racing
August 30, 2006 10:19am
Fort Worth, TX. (August 14, 2006) – Mike Kidd Entertainment Group (MKEG) – one of the leading motorcycle race producers in the country - is proud to announce the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series has added Pit Bike racing at each round, including the U.S. Open of Arenacross.
“With the tremendous growth of pit bike racing across the country, now is the time to include this popular sport to our Arenacross program,” said Mike Kidd, president of MKEG. “The support has been overwhelming with thousands of dollars already posted in contingency from a variety of sponsors.”
Each round of the series will feature Friday and Saturday night racing for a $1,500.00 purse in the Pit Bike Pro class. The tradition of free entries for all classes on Friday and Saturday night will continue at the BooKoo Arenacross Series. Sunday will include two youth classes and two adult classes with trophies first through eight places along with posted contingency.
The big news will be the $10,000.00 added purse to the Pit Bike Pro class at the U.S. Open of Arenacross to be held at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT on February 9-11, 2007. Riders will be competing for the standard $1,500.00 purse, with a two night point total to crown the U.S. Open Pro Pit Bike Champion. Payout of the $10,000.00 will be $5,000.00 for first, $3,000.00 for second and $2,000.00 for third.
“The addition of Pit Bike racing is going to add a whole new element of excitement to our show,” said Shane Schaefer, event manager of MKEG. “I’m talking heat, semis and a main event just like our big bike classes.”
