Historical: FMF Racing to Title Sponsor UnadillaFriday, July 14, 2006 | 5:44 AM
his•tor•i•cal adj. Based on or concerned with events in history.
This is the thought that comes to mind when you mention the legendary events such as Indianapolis 500 for Motorsports, or Wimbledon for Tennis. Every sport has their respective historical event and Unadilla is that for the sport of Motocross. The AMA Motocross Nationals are the root of the sport and the intensity and determination it takes to compete in such an event is what makes Unadilla the perfect setting for a grueling day of racing.
FMF has been involved in Motocross since 1973 and has always looked at Unadilla as one of the most important races of the year, and 2006 will mark the collaboration with Unadilla Motocross National and FMF Racing. Don Emler, President of FMF Racing states “I have always looked at Unadilla as the race where the fans, and media come from all over the world to experience a little bit of history. I have been involved in this sport for quite a while and am very pleased to be part of such a great event.” From 1976 thru 1983 long time FMF rider and now Employee Danny LaPorte took to the hills of New York and states “I have won many moto’s over the years so Unadilla holds a little piece of my heart. Looking back now, and seeing what this event has become makes me proud that I can be apart of the history again.” Unadilla has long been know for the great battles that have gone on throughout the years between the likes of DeCoster and Hannah, Bailey and LaPorte, now the battle that will shape up for this year’s Unadilla race Stewart and Carmichael. So Historical is what has come to mind for such a great event, and for more information regarding FMF Racing or Unadilla and the AMA Toyota Motocross Nationals presented by FMF please go to www.fmfracing.com, www.unadillamx.com, www.amaproracing.com, or www.toyotacross.com
