Monster Energy’s Carmichael Wins Red Bud
Monday, July 3, 2006 | 1:17 PMOne more win for Carmichael – Steel City on Labor Day Weekend –
would earn him his second-straight Monster/Kawi Triple Crown of
Motocross!
CARLSBAD, Calif., (July 3, 2006) – Monster Energy-backed Ricky
Carmichael gave the massive crowd at Buchanan, Mich.’s RedBud
Outdoor National MX facility what they came to see on Sunday – the
greatest motocross racer of all time topping the world’s best
competition to take the second of the three-round Monster Energy/
Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross.
“Two down, one to go,” said Carmichael of the coveted $30,000
bonus award he won last year as well.
The fast Floridian’s performance was as masterful as they come,
taming the long, legendary RedBud track to the tune of a 1-1
performance for first place overall. With the effort Carmichael
extended his points lead over Chad Reed to 30 points after five
rounds of racing (242-212).
Next up for Carmichael is the July 16th Unadilla National in New
Berlin, N.Y., Round Six of the 2006 Toyota AMA Motocross Championship.
