Heath Voss Out with Injury
Yamaha Factory Star to miss Southwick and Budds Creek
Cypress, CA (June 9, 2006) - - Yamaha Factory racer Heath Voss
will be forced to miss at least the next two AMA National Motocross
events, Southwick and Budds Creek, after tests determined the likable
former World Supercross Champion broke a bone in his hand.
Heath crashed during a qualifying race at the High Point National in
Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania and was unable to compete the rest of the
afternoon due to the pain and the inability to grip the
handlebars. Heath returned to his home in Mico, Texas and after
meeting with doctors it was determined he would miss at least the next
two rounds.
“Heath is one of the hardest working, most determined, and nicest
racers I’ve ever worked with,” explains Yamaha Team Manager, Jim
Perry. “I know how badly he wants to race this weekend.
Hopefully, his hand heals quickly and he can be back on his YZ450F
before the Red Bud event.”
