Amateur motocross loses longtime friend Lutie WalkerTuesday, March 21, 2006 | 3:01 PM
We are sad to report that Lutie Walker, the mother of 11-time AMA Amateur National Motocross Champion Kevin Walker, passed away last night after suffering a stroke. Lutie and her husband ,James, who hailed from southwestern Virginia, were fixtures at all of the big amateur motocross races across the country, as well as the Mega-Series, the Florida Winter-AMAs, and many other big Southeast Region events. Visitation for Mrs. Walker will go Wednesday night, March 22, from 7-9 p.m. Lutie will be lying in rest at:

Graveside services for Mrs. Walker will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the family cemetery.

Wednesday evening, the family will be at Flora Funeral Home ,located at 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia.
The funeral will be held on Thursday 2:00 PM with grave side rites at the Family Cemetery near the Walker home at Penhook, VA.
Directions to Cemetery: From State Route 40, approximately 15 miles from Rocky Mount to the West (US 220) and 15 miles from Gretna to the East (US 29) at Penhook, VA go south on State Rt. 890. approximately 7 miles to True Vine Road, turn left go 2 miles, turn left onto Walker Road, cemetery is 2 1/2 miles.
