Heath Voss to Miss Phoenix Supercross
Yamaha Factory rider too sore to compete
Cypress, CA (January 13, 2006) - - Yamaha Factory racer Heath
Voss will miss this weekend's AMA Supercross race in Phoenix, Arizona
due to injuries from a practice crash. Voss, the 2003 World
Supercross Champion, crashed on Tuesday January 10th at the Yamaha test
track and though he suffered no serious injuries the impact caused
extreme stiffness in his neck and back.
Hoping to compete this weekend, Voss retuned home to Texas for further
examination but it was determined by his doctors that the Yamaha star
does not have enough mobility to compete at the level needed for
Supercross. "I can't believe I have to miss Phoenix,"
explained a disappointed Heath Voss. "I went to bed last night
hoping to wake up, spring out of bed and still make the race, but,
unfortunately, Im too sore and must think about the rest of the series
rather than returning when I'm not 100%."
Heath Voss is expected to make a full recovery and looks forward to being back at the track as soon as possible.
