BooKoo Arenacross and Team Babbitt’s Kawasaki Meet with Future Technicians of AX
MMI Host’s the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series and Team Babbitt’s Enxus Kawasaki
PHOENIX, AZ (December 15, 2005) – Advanstar – a leading provider of
print, event and online media for the powersports, off-road and
automotive aftermarket industries – Representatives from the K&N
presents BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series and Team Babbitt’s Enxus
Kawasaki visited the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix Thursday
December 15, 2005.
Students and facility at the 125,000 Sq/ft campus located in Phoenix,
AZ were on hand to meet Miss BooKoo Arenacross Erin Normoyle and Team
Babbitt’s Enxus Kawasaki Riders and Mechanics. Team Babbitt’s Enxus
Kawasaki put on demonstrations, spoke with students about working in
the race industry, received a tour of the campus and even tore down and
rebuilt one of their race bikes. Tickets were raffled off for this
weekends racing.
“It was great having the BooKoo Arenacross and Team Babbitt’s Kawasaki
out at out campus,” said Terry Emig, Director of Event Marketing at
Universal Technical Institute, INC. “Working in the racing industry is
the dream of many of these students. They really enjoyed speaking with
the technicians and racers. It allows them to get a feel of how to
utilize their education they are receiving at MMI in the real world.”
The Motorcycle Mechanics Institute provides real world people with the
training and education they need to start their career as a motorcycle
technician. MMI is supported and equipped by all five major motorcycle
manufactures and provides lifetime job placement assistance to any of
their graduates. Students can complete their coursework and
certifications in as little as 57 weeks. They can focus their education
on Harley Davidson, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda or all of the
above. MMI has two campuses, Phoenix, AZ and Orlando, FL, with over
4000 students enrolled between the two campuses.
Round six of the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series takes place at
the Glendale Arena in Glendale, AZ, December 16-18, 2005. Pro Racing
takes place Friday and Saturday night. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the
BooKoo Pit Party and track walk. Racing begins at 7:30 pm. On Sunday
the amateurs take to the track as part of the 21-class Amateur Shootout.
