Your Collection: Bike Collection
Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 1:35 PMThis weeks collection comes to us from Todd Streit.
Here is a 1987 Cr 500 that I just finished. Also pictured are my other bikes, 1985 CR 250, 1984 CR 80, 1983 RM 250, 1981 YZ 125. These bikes are raced every year at the High Point Vet National. The picture of the frame is from the CR 500. All of these bikes were tore down to the frame and restored and rebuilt. I have a 1978 RM 250 that I am working on now. Thanks for looking.

Very nice collection.I had a '81 yz125.My first NEW bike.Paid for it my self.I was 13.
the yamahas front number plate was very intresting
@ mxsp17 For getting your first bike and paying for it yourself I am proud of you! I bought and paid for all of my bikes including my first one a Honda minitrail 50, I get a big laugh out of the TWO Tribes article in Racer X when the people say thay got thier first bike for a present from Santa Clause or Mom and Dad!
Paid for every bike/trike i ever had. Mom and Dad didn't like them. The 500 is my fave also. Sweet collection.
Good job on all those restorations, would love to see that '78 RM 250
I had a cr60 as well, my 2nd bike, first was a mr50, no 85 cr60 though, only 83 and 84 mine was an 83
My 89 CR500 was awesome !
And after Pro circuit was done it was. "KILLER"
I think BONES said it had about 70hp when P/C was done !.
I put a paddle on and went to Glamis, and got plenty of air time.
Kinda like Ron Lechine's hot rodded KX 500. Bad A@@
Power to weight ratio of a top fuel dragster.
wiles715 - The reason the Yamaha has a funky front number plate is because that's where the radiator on the bike is located.
Nice bikes!!! Good to see they're still out there!!!
Todd,
I have raced against you at the High Point Vet National in the past on my 1983 YZ250. You really need to consider doing the Unadilla rewind. It is High Point vintage on steroids.
My brother did the rewind last year on a 83 yz 490 and he loved it. So much in fact he bought a 86 cr 125 and 250. He needs the 500 if anyone knows of one around. I will be there this year on a 79 rm 125. Your bikes r sweet gotta love the oldies
Todd - you need to restore another bike. You are missing a #4 plate. Find a kx60.
Is your 1978 RM250 a 1978 or a 1978 1/2? They had an aluminum swingarm & a little more horsepower.
sweet collection!!
We could be friends if you just shipped that 87CR to me. If not, I think our short friendship may be on the rocks...:) Nice job on all of those bikes!
I raced the YZ125 in '81. It should never be associated with the #1! The RM125s really blew them away that year.
My brother had the 81 yz125i rode it when I was 12 used to start side saddle then jump in it .was a blast I had a 1982 cr80 and a 86 cr500 great memories good job restoring them!
'78 1/2 RM250C2's had the first Suzuki Plastic tank, I had a '78 C1, a '77, 2 '76's ......... Loved those RM's. I'm gathering parts to try and build an RN 250/370 replica ( haven't finalized which motor yet) '74/'75 Vintage. Basically a RM with TM '74 tank & body work, RM forks, PE250 front hub/brake ( Just like RN's used). It may not be legal to ride in some classes, it is caught between stock suspended and Evolution classes. To me the RN were the most raw and trick bike ever built. I will ride the piss out it too.
Loving the Baily replica CR500. I'm partial to the CR80 also as I had the same exact bike. Absolutly beautiful collection.
Awesome Todd!! Glad you are showing your work off!
thanks suzuki is 78.5 plastic tank and aluminum swingarm
Who was the best 500cc rider of all time???
