Blake Baggett out for Phoenix
Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 6:00 PMMonster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett bones in his hand and wrist during last weekend's first turn melee in the 250SX main event (he didn't crash, but was hit a cartwheeling bike). He had a cast put on the hand on Monday, but then cut it off and tried to go racing today. He looked okay, until he got whiskey throttle (due to the wrist/hand injury) through a rhythm section and crashed spectaculaly.
With that, the experiment is over, and Blake is going to sit out tonight's race, and quite possibly the rest of the West Region 250 SX season in order to get healed up for the motocross season. Surgery might be in order, but no one is sure yet.
Tough luck for him. Get well soon, Blake!

Blake, heal up soon bud. Keep your head up, and we`ll see you at the nationals.
Bagget racin the east series
Roczen fastest then tomac seeley
@Sloan - once you run a heat race in the 250 West you can't jump ship to the 250 East, all BB can do now is run 250 West races or 450's until he defends his 250 outdoor #1 plate. Hopefully he can be 100% a few weeks before Hangtown. Bummer . . . that #4 plate is 0/2 since he started running it.
motodog Thats why your a dog moto !
That's a bummer. Get your hand fixed and come out swinging !
He was PCs only real hope out west. Mitch has to be pissed.
question: can a rider in the west that gets hurt in the first round switch to the east? Pretty sure not but not 100%...tonight's stewies night!
yeah at this point just be smart and heal up for nationals.
As soon as you roll out for first practice of the year, you are locked into west. Do not have to even race A1. If you practice at A1 you can not race East.
He's not that great indoors anyway. Hopefully he's 100% by May. The kid's a beast outdoors!
It seems to me that if you are injured enough to require a cast then cutting it off a few hours later and trying to race Supercross doesn't seem to bright to me. I am not surprised he crashed again due to not being able to hang on. Too bad it had to happen in the first race but he needs to heal up and come out swinging for the outdoor Nationals.
Jeez Weigant. You have a dream job as a moto-journalist, maybe you should hit up a local comunnity college for some writing courses. Proof read your work at least, maybe hit spell check?! Proof read this bad boy for gods sake!
Me no understand Chinese.
It's the damned #4 I tell ya. It's cursed for anyone else except RC to run it.
