RCH Racing’s Josh Hill Injury Update

RCH Racing's Josh Hill was sidelined Saturday night after suffering a mild concussion and injury to his right hand at the season opening Monster Energy Supercross Series race in Anaheim. It was previously released that he would be sitting out the next 2-3 weeks from racing.
Today Josh Hill was cleared by a personal doctor in regards to his concussion and he is 100% in this regard.  However, after further evaluation, it was found that he has a crack in a bone in his hand and will be casted for the next 7-10 days. Josh is working hard to get healthy and is scheduled to be return to racing in Oakland.

The RCH Racing team will have a single entry at this week's SX event in Phoenix with Broc Tickle riding the No. 20 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki RM-Z450.

I'm thinking of a certain other Suzuki support rider that could use the factory hardware while Josh is down.....

JH really should retire. He's using up a slot that some deserving rider could have, and he's done. Write it down.

And Canard wasn't out trying friggin' backflips. I don't know that its RETIREment time. Really can't see him winning ever again, there are 7 guys that can or will be able to win this and next year. I hope he gets healthy and stays there!!

Just let Hansen race his bike this weekend... Since he's not gonna race this weekend.. He does hang it out in SX and is good for a takeout or 2...

@trailmaster, i agree! There are some real negative guys on the bench; tough crowd. Hope josh will not be onthe bench long. He has some skills...looking forward to Oakland.

Some serious a-holes posting on Racer X anymore! Josh earned his ride having sheer determination! Hoping the kid lands on the podium.

xoxo161 wrote: 11:22pm January 10, 2013

Like Canard and any of our racers. They all deserve 2nd and 3rd chances until they prove they don't have the heart and desire to "turn the throttle". So I say give him another chance. His comeback has been monumental.

However, one thing I don't agree with is he's heavy again and out of shape. He should have come in trim and lean. There are "no" out of shape riders winning these races. Look at Millsaps. He's in great shape and look at his results. Terribly dissappointing to see Josh Hill come in looking like the Pillsbery Dough Boy.

Man, we all feel for Josh! How difficult and frustrating. Now, don't go feeling sorry for me here, but I only got hurt once (20 years ago) –– and never got up again. The first bone I ever broke was my spine (along with a dislocated hip). Hey, I'm trying to be encouraging here. :D Keep chipping away Josh! We're all pulling for you!

MotoMushman wrote: 11:27pm January 10, 2013

It would be another great comeback story if JH75 could pull a Canard before years end. Best of luck to him.

Go Hill, you got this.

Profile Picture
hamncheeze wrote: 1:52am January 11, 2013

xoxo161 - you make a good point about being fit. Some guys who get hurt frequently just have very bad luck, guys like Canard and Villopoto for example. They ride on the edge and every now and then they cross it. But no one can fault their training and fitness.

Then you have guys like Josh Grant and Josh Hill, who as far as I can tell, do not really put a huge effort into being superfit. They always look a little soft and "doughy". And I think some of their crashes and injuries can be attributed to this, they are crashing hard and getting hurt and not even running near the top speed. Same thing with JS7, since 2009 he has not really been taking his overall fitness and training as serious as he ever did when Baker was working with him. I mean, he has always been checkers or wreckers, but since 2010 his wad-frequency is much higher.

Wow some are you guys are real A holes man. Give the kid a break So if RV would have hurt something last weekend he should have just given it all up right? WRONG RV has had a wrist, two acls, two legs and noone has written him off. Josh is a fighter. Out of all of us who here has done the damage he has done to his legs and kept riding? Noone Bench racing is getting rediculous.

Profile Picture
dinosaurmedia wrote: 9:28am January 11, 2013

@Kawi62 - that is why they are "just" bench racers - anonymous keyboard cowards...useless hacks....

Profile Picture
YAMAHA856 wrote: 9:59am January 11, 2013

yea, i dont even know why i scroll down to read these comments anymore. to say something towards someone to retire, get out of the sport, you dont deserve your ride, and you dont train, your not fit enough.. HOW THE F*&K can you set behind a keyboard and type stuff like that? Not just on this tread but almost every other thread or topic on here.

For all saying Hill should "hang it up/quit', have you heard of a QB named Drew Brees, or Adrian Peterson, maybe Jeremy Shockey?????

Concussions are serious; even minor ones! I was reading about a HS football player that suffered a "minor" concussion and was cleared by his doctor after a clean CT scan. He was then hit again in a practice scrimmage and his brain swelled bigtime and now he has permanent disability!! This caught the doctors completely by surprise! We just don't know enough about comsussions!

Profile Picture
McMoto wrote: 11:42am January 11, 2013

@ Thor7, Bummer about your bad break. Its good that your still a fan.

@ Moto87, "comsussions" thats funny man, I'm feeling the effects a little more these days of 8 to 10 concussions through out my riding days (44 years). Its frustrating sometimes and just hope people don't notice it most times.

Josh Hill will be back and fast, he must have a good handle on his foot issues, I had the same injury and it scared the crap outta me but fortunatley it healed up to 95 %. He looked so fit before his 'backflip', needs to get back on the program.

Motod6 wrote: 11:54am January 11, 2013

That sucks. Hill has some bad luck. If it was raining vag!na, Hill would still get hit in the face with a d1ck. I hope his luck turns around.

Remember K-Dub snapping his leg on that Zuki & Stanton if I remember, broke his leg numerous places, his parents wanted him to quit? Its up to Josh bottom line.

Jake511 wrote: 12:28pm January 11, 2013

canoe589 is dead on. What a bunch of pr!cks. First, Jeff Willoh is telling KDub to hang it up after teaching everyone the fast line through the A1 sand and getting a tenth(!), now everyone is on Hill. Why you people think your career counseling is worthwhile, I'll never understand.

Josh Hill is one of the nicest dudes. None of the haters would walk up to him in the pits and tell him how washed up he is. He can qualify any supercross race which is an amazing accomplishment. He deserves to be there and has many good rides ahead of him.

Profile Picture
trailmaster17 wrote: 12:57pm January 11, 2013

Like i said a bunch of heros on here think they know it all,I can't even feel my right foot from a serious injury and i adjusted to it and fixed my brake pedal up a little more and ride like it never happened,They would never tell him to his face he is done cause they're a bunch of keyboard warriors who could never qualify to make it in a sx!

no doubt, this is a critical season for josh hill, he must show results if he is to continue to get a "paying" gig. no skin off my ass if he races or not.......... but he has to turn this thing around or it might be the end. with that said, i say "good luck josh". (some say we make our own luck) that back flip was such a bad decision, i think he could have been a title contender. wish he would have focused on racing.

josh hill is his own boss like everyone else and he should enjoy his own choices...no one can say what he should do ..he's as tough as the rest of the riders..

Profile Picture
SuperSXFanMan wrote: 12:02am January 12, 2013

I'd gladly talk to him face to face and try to convince him to quit. It's for his own good. He's not in race shape, and he's not competitive. If he keeps trying to race at that level, he's going to get injured again. I don't wish him ill - quite the opposite. Sometimes discretion really is the better part of valor.
