Jantz Grodzicki Update
Saturday, November 24, 2012 | 11:55 AM
"This is Chris, Jantz's dad... I wanted to first thank everyone for the heartfelt prayers for Jantz. I need to ask everyone the favor of including Jantz in your prayers as we move through this painful journey. Jantz sustained a devastating brain cell and spinal cord injury. He was wearing a layete brace and shoei helmet. We left the hospital last night with zero hope from the doctors of his survival chances. His heart stopped at the track and he was pronounced brain dead at the hospital with no response. He was however put on life support until we decided on the options available that I hope none if you ever half to face. A short while ago we received a call from the doctor that a miracle took place this morning at 6:30am that Jantz's "condition has changed significantly" he is responding to eye commands, left to right, up and down and raise your eyebrows. Still no other responses other than this. Given what we were told this is truely a miracle. The thoughts and prayers shared here and on Facebook are what have helped him to make a move off the line. The race for recovery is just beginning and we can only pray that God will pull him through. May god bless each of you and your families. The Grodzicki Family...."

My thoughts and prayers for the Grodzicki family and friends
**UPDATE (11/25)** Though there was a temporary, small glimpse of hope, after some slight brain activity while connected to life support, Chris Grodzicki, Jantz’s father, made this sad announcement late Saturday night November 24th:
“Unfortunately Jantz’ injuries are too severe to survive. He suffered a severed spinal cord at the base of his skull and it is improbable that he can recover. The body can not survive with this damage. The family will take him off life support in the next day or so. Godspeed #96!”
so sad, i have a son we ride, dont race anymore (at that level).i truely think i would have a tough time going on if somthing like this would happen to my family.i hope they have more strength than i would. i have long felt the top level am. racing has gotten way to proffesional way to young. they just go to fast. also that elevator jump at gatorback has injured alot of people throughout the years. can we get rid of it?
He is still on life support
He's alive everyone !
My son and I are pulling for you little buddy!!
Why, it was never like this, bless jantz and family, my brothers raced, i raced from 1978 to 2005, i was lucky i broke c4 and c5 in 1990 and theres was a chip of bone they where worried was going to, hard to say still today but damage or sever my spinal cord while i was being careflighted, they took local x-rays at the hospitol and careflight landed in the parking lot,to take me to a trauma hospitol they kept asking how i survived the ambulance ride no neck support they took my helmet off my head wasnt tape, mosier valley was famous for this but before careflight took off they kept telling me and my brother its november its overcast any turbulance could move the bone chip paralyzing me or death, kids are doing stuff know thats unreal at the amatuer level much less pro, my biggest dream was to have my boys follow were i left off, my 12 yr. old raced started at 4 but wasnt for him, my 9yr old hasnt been riding long he rides 50sr ktm and his riding is effortless he has caught on so fast it scares me,and every time he rides he scares me not because hes out of control hes just fast and nothing scares him, i always tell him back off the gas a bit have some fun then will get serious and he get mad now with all the injuries and deaths i dont want him riding sometimes.
