Japanese Champion, Narita, to Race A1
Friday, January 4, 2013 | 9:50 AMNarita will be competing aboard a Honda CRF450R for Team HRC (Honda Racing Corporation). Narita sees his participation is the U.S. Supercross series as a way to boost his riding to the next level. “Supercross racing in the U.S. is the highest level of the sport, and the best possible training for me prior to the All Japan championship,” said Narita. “I appreciate the support of HRC and American Honda in my racing here.”
While this HRC effort is separate from American Honda, you can find Narita’s support rig parked with the Team Honda Muscle Milk trucks so the teams can work together to assist Narita in his quest to compete in the most competitive Supercross field in the world. Look for this multi-time Japanese champion on the starting line at Anaheim 1 on January 5, 2013.

Should read "japanese Champion Narita to TRY to race A1!"
Dude might not even qualify for the night show...- no disrespect intended.
It shows he has some balls though,a lot of other guys that could come over and try but have to much pride to get beat!
He won't make the program. That's why Japan doesn't want any U.S.
guys racing in their series anymore.
Narita has podiumed once in supercross before. He got 3rd at Anaheim 1 in 2005, the 125 West opener.
Dude been qualifying since 1998!!
He is/was a great rider. He will not make the main. This is the deepest field in the history of the sport.
Anybody know his bike number?
Not on the entry list (per: HOW TO WATCH ANAHEIM 1), far as I could see.
@jgbvr respect the race if it were not for them asians yall would not have any bikes to ride silly redneck

Your intelligence is overwhelming...
I thinks it's great to see Akira over here again and good for him for giving it a shot as you don't see many EU champions giving it a try.
@MotoXScript. Akira's number according the the pre-entry list will be #982
Anyone notice that all the top guys are on the pre-entry list for the 250's at A1?
Bagget
Tomac
Ratlay
Roxen
Davalos
Anstie
Osborne
Would be great if they all really did show up and not skip to the East.
@ klrman1
It will be interesting to see if he makes it past a Qualifier and into a Heat Race. If so, I'm sure the Boys in the booth will mention it. Know how old a guy He is? If super_fro_daddy (said he's been qualifying since '98) is correct, the guy could be in his late 20's... even early 30's...?
narita raced outdoors with travis pastrona on 125.
Akira Narita: 32 yrs. young (born 1980)... eats Sushi for breakfast... has every episode of SpongeBob SquarePants DVR'd, owns an Akita dog...
(made at least one or two of those up).
He may still have a few fast laps in him. He may also be stunned at how fast everyone else is too. Going to be fun for sure. My money's on RV for A1 and JB for the title because of his starts, but who knows. Maybe James is going to surprise everyone, or Reedy. Have my bigscreen tv all tuned and polished for this race,so it better be good lol.
wheres all the Europeans? easy pickings for them now.
@mxjoe
In Osaka or Tokyo... waiting for the racing season to begin !?
Seems like Narita has been around forever. He has shown good speed in the past but I won't be surprised if he watches the main from the stands.
. Good luck to him though. Takes balls for a champion to step outside of his comfort zone.
Yes he has been around for a long time! It will be interesting to see how he does my bookie says to put my money on Hannah though!
your an idiot the ktm wouldnt be a good bike today if they didnt have the great asian bikes to reverse engineer get your facts straight you uneducated hillbilly
