Reports: GP Format Changes on Horizon?
Monday, November 19, 2012 | 1:50 PM
Racer X European Correspondent Adam Wheeler is reporting that the FIM World Championship is considering some radical changes to their 2013 race program for fly-away races in Qatar, Thailand, Mexico and Brazil. He is also reporting that the changes, which would see a proposed combined MX1 and MX2 class for second motos, could be applied for the full series in 2014. "A combined MX1 &MX2; class for second motos"??? WTF Guessipe Luongo, you POS??? You haven't done enough already to ruin the World Championships? Sad to say, at this point, I hope the series just dies. Then, when the greedy fat gasbag is gone, some responsible organization can start it up again at a later date and try to return it to the prestigious series it once was.
Hey Racer X, why is the formatting for your comments so messed up? It's not us putting part of a word on one line and the rest on the next. It's a formatting problem. Could you guys please fix it, it makes it hard to read the comments. Thx.
They need to do away with the MX3 class.
This is a crazy idea but compared to what YS is doing...
What about running the last couple of AMA SX races in europe, at a big soccer stadium and then start the real world MX championship there for, let say 6 races and then move back to the US.
Or...close the GP´s for good and move everything to the US...
@mgwest949 - I think the formatting has something to do with how they are entered. All the ones I enter on a PC look fine, but if I enter from an I-Pad, I get the "randomly add and take away spaces" look you're talking about. I'm guessing smart phones or kindle fires may have the same issue.
Most people probably don't even realize there is a MX3 class, aside from MXdN. But then what class would Maico make their big comeback?
traditional offseason crap-buzz from youthstream, and of course many idiots still believe giuseppe "announced then canceled" luongo
Combining the MX1 and MX2 for the second motos sounds good to me. Its a step in the right direction of 1 professional class. Take notes American motocross.
atta boy guiseppe...your plan to destroy the once presigeous gran prix series is one step closer to being complete...having GPs in far away dangerous 3rd world countries where there may be 20 bikes sold in the last 2 years among all of them is one thing but combining the 2nd motos with both classes is pure idiotic! that will be super easy for people new to the sport to follow....freeging moronic and sad.
If each class can't fill half the gate at those "fly away" race they might as well combine them, right?
thats right, nothing worse than paying the big entry fee (often more than mx of nations?!) and then seeing twenty riders line up! Its full forty or nothing for the big races!
Probably the formats is like that, because in each of these countrys they dont have type "a riders" , so the gate could be full and not to much risk racing against lower clases... im just saying cause i saw that happend in Mexico...
